Western United v Melbourne City: match preview

Western United play their first ever Melbourne derby against local rivals Melbourne City on Sunday afternoon.

Mark Rudan's men backed up their inaugural victory against Wellington Phoenix with a 1-1 stalemate against Perth Glory in Round 2, with Kristian Popovic's strike denying the new kids on the block their first home victory in the Hyundai A-League.

United will seek to post their maiden victory in front of their faithful crowd when City arrive at GMHBA Stadium on Sunday.

City fell to a 4-0 loss against Adelaide United in the FFA Cup Final on Wednesday following a 2-1 victory against the Reds in Round 2.
