Returning to the club from NPL side Melbourne Knights in the off-season, Fenton has enjoyed a strong campaign, making 18 appearances for a return of two goals and two assists.

Playing as wing-back under Mark Rudan, Fenton has made 19 tackles as well as pulling off a crucial 14 interceptions.

The 25-year old said he was thrilled to have re-signed with the Nix as they look to bed down a finals spot for the first time since 2015.

"I’m very happy to be staying at my hometown club,” Fenton said.

"I really feel that I proved myself in pre-season to earn a contract and I still aspire to be the hardest worker out there every day.

"I’ve always been proud to represent this club and now I want to push on and dream bigger, by targeting finals and then trophies.”

Phoenix manager Mark Rudan said that he was looking forward to helping the one-time All Whites representative continue his development.

"Fenton is still only a young footballer, and he’s still learning but this season he has been fantastic,” Rudan said.

"His positive mindset since day one has been second to none and he has carried that positivity through in his training, his attitude and his execution.

"I couldn’t be happier for him and I believe he has still plenty more to come."

Sixth-placed Phoenix are next in action in the Hyundai A-League on Saturday, taking on Sydney FC at Campbelltown Stadium.
