There’s nothing better than scoring a scorching goal from distance, except doing it in a huge game.

And that’s what Adelaide United midfielder Daniel Adlung did in his side’s Westfield FFA Cup semi-final against Western Sydney Wanderers.

Receiving the ball about 35 yards from goal, Adlung took one stride forward before unleashing a powerful, swerving effort which flew in off the right-hand post.

The goal was not only one of the best strikes of the 2017 competition but ultimately proved to be the winner, booking his side a spot in the final against Sydney FC.

“It was a good goal I think and maybe I have to shoot more often so I can score more goals,” Adlung said after the match.
