Central Coast Mariners 1-3 Adelaide United

An early Milan Duric penalty gave the Mariners hope of breaking a five-match losing run against Adelaide at Central Coast Stadium.

But the tide turned before half time as the Reds rallied, scoring three times in 19 minutes through Ben Halloran, Nikola Mileusnic and Kristian Opseth.

Western United 0-1 Newcastle Jets

Ernie Merrick's men recorded their first win of the season thanks to Angus Thurgate's first-half strike.

Caltex Socceroos Josh Risdon thought he had levelled for Mark Rudan's side late on but a VAR review chalked off the goal for offside.

Brisbane Roar 4-3 Melbourne City

Jamie Maclaren scored a hat-trick for Melbourne City, but Roy O'Donovan also notched three as Brisbane Roar completed an incredible come from behind win over the league leaders.

Maclaren twice opened up a two-goal buffer for Erick Mombaerts' side, but the Queenslanders mustered an almighty second half response.

Sydney FC 2-1 Melbourne Victory

Kosta Barbarouses was the match winner as Sydney FC went second with a 2-1 triumph over Melbourne Victory.

The former Victory star tucked home from close range midway through the second half after Adam Le Fondre had cancelled out Ola Toivonen's opener.
