Waldus settles back in at Western Sydney Wanderers

Western Sydney Wanderers will have a familiar face back among their ranks for the trip to Perth Glory with Dutch defender Maruschka Waldus re-signing for a second stint.

Waldus, who previously spent time at Heerenveen and FC Twente, has just concluded her Norwegian campaign with Avaldsnes and is now free to concentrate on the remainder of the Westfield W-League season.

PREVIEW: Perth Glory v Western Sydney Wanderers

The 26-year-old featured in every match for Western Sydney last term and will be expected to help shackle Sam Kerr in Perth on Saturday night.

"Maruschka is a great addition. She'll be on board for the Perth match," Wanderers coach Dan Barrett confirmed.

"She's trained extremely well since getting here and had a good week under her belt, maybe a little bit more.

"She has a good understanding of my philosophy and what I want the team to achieve this year. She's slotted straight in."

Waldus played in 22 matches for Avaldsnes in the Toppserien, gaining valuable UEFA Champions League experience.
