Caltex Socceroos goalkeeper Danny Vukovic has suffered a cruel blow with confirmation he has ruptured his Achilles tendon.
The news was revealed by his agent Mikkel Beck, who revealed the 34-year-old shot-stopper would have surgery immediately and begin his rehab.
Vukovic is coming off a superb season for both country and his Belgium club Genk, who he helped to their first title in eight years last season.
In a stellar campaign from the Hyundai A-League championship winner, Vukovic kept 14 clean sheets in 37 league matches on the way to the title in 2018/19.
