Victory praised for classy dressing room gesture after ACL defeat

Melbourne Victory may have fallen to a late defeat against Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the AFC Champions League on Tuesday night but they left a good impression on the Japanese club.

Victory lost their second straight game in this year’s ACL after conceding an 86th-minute goal to go down 2-1.

Japanese legend Keisuke Honda’s 71st-minute strike looked to have Kevin Muscat’s men on course for a draw before Daiki Watari’s late header left them shell-shocked.

Despite their late heartbreak, Victory still took the effort to leave their change room in an immaculate condition.

An image of the team’s dressing room was distributed on Twitter, with a ‘Thank You’ message written in Japanese left on a whiteboard.

“Great. I will support you from now on. Thank you.” one fan commented, with another saying: “Great Please come to Hiroshima again!”
