Here’s a look back at the key signings from the last week.

MIRKO BOLAND

After almost a decade playing in Germany, the experienced midfielder has joined compatriot Marco Kurz at the Reds.

Seen as the ideal replacement for another German in Daniel Adlung, Boland is an industrious midfielder who can set the tempo for his side and also has an eye for goal.

He amassed more than 300 appearances during his time at Eintracht Braunschweig, helping the club win promotion to the Bundesliga a few seasons back and was a huge fan favourite at the club.

In Adelaide, his partnership in the middle of the park with skipper Isaias could make the Reds a real force in 2018/19.

GEORG NIEDERMEIER

With the likes of Rhys Williams and James Donachie leaving the club, the addition of the classy German defender is a huge pick-up for Melbourne Victory.

A graduate of the famed Bayern Munich Academy, Niedermeier has spent the majority of his career in the Bundesliga and was once a teammate of former Victory star Mathieu Delpierre.

Along with the returning Nick Ansell, the 32-year-old will give the defending champions a solid base to build on for the 2018/19  Season.

ROSTYN GRIFFITHS

If there was one area Melbourne City boss Warren Joyce had to strengthen in this off-season it’s in midfield and he’s managed to do just that.

In Griffiths, City have a player who knows what it takes to be successful in the Hyundai A-League, while providing a real presence in the middle of the park.

With the likes of Luke Brattan and Dario Vidosic in front of him, City looks to have the ammunition to provide service to star striker Bruno Fornaroli and new recruit Michael O’Halloran.

JUANDE

Tony Popovic looks to have unearthed a real gem in former Spain U21 international Juande.

The midfielder has joined Perth Glory on a two-year deal and is the type of player that will be crucial to Popovic’s rebuild in the west.

The 31-year-old played a number of seasons in Spain’s La Liga, debuting against Real Madrid in 2007 and scoring his first goal against their neighbours Atletico.

Juande has also played in Belgium and Italy and will link up with compatriot Diego Castro at Glory.
