FIFA Women's World qualification secured

The Westfield Matildas knew that a semi-final finish at the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2018 would result in qualification for France 2019.

And they booked their spot for the showpiece event in exciting fashion as Sam Kerr produced an 86th-minute equaliser in a 1-1 group stage draw against Japan.

Alen Stajcic’s side are given every chance of winning the FIFA Women’s World Cup, with the coach recently stating that “we can beat anyone”.

The 1-1 draw also saw Australia finish on top of their pool in Jordan.
