Sydney FC to unleash new attacking aces in FFA Cup

Sydney FC will let new signings Siem de Jong and Adam Le Fondre off the leash in Wednesday's FFA Cup encounter against Avondale FC.

The highly rated attackers have been cleared to debut at ABD Stadium after proving themselves on the track since arriving from Ajax and Bolton Wanderers respectively in August.

While not prepared to confirm whether either will start the Quarter Final clash, Sky Blues coach Steve Corica is confident the pair are ready to make an impact.

"They're raring to go. Everything has come through for them," Corica said.

"They've played two friendly games for us now. They're getting to know the boys a lot better.

"They've fitted in really well, both of their families are out here now, so that's great as well.

"And they're good quality players, that's obviously key. You'll see a lot more of them as the games go on."

Siem De Jong
De Jong has experience at the top of the game.

De Jong and Le Fondre's inclusion in the squad comes as a mark of respect for an Avondale side that has already scored eight goals across convincing victories over Marconi Stallions and Devonport City.

Corica is well aware of the danger the Victorian outfit pose, promising his team will not treat the occasion lightly.

"We want to put on a very good performance. It's a tough game," he said.

"We've definitely looked at them and made sure we've done our research.

"We're prepared for the game. We're looking forward to it because these are important games for us."

Daniel De Silva will be the only Sydney FC player missing from the match as he recovers from a hamstring problem.
