Sydney FC release Nick Carle on 12-month loan

Sydney FC have agreed to a one-year loan deal that will see midfielder Nick Carle join United Arab Emirates club Baniyas Sports Club.

Sydney FC have agreed to a one-year loan deal that will see midfielder Nick Carle join United Arab Emirates club Baniyas Sports Club.

The 30-year-old will leave for Abu Dhabi on later this week having played 42 Hyundai A-League matches for Sydney FC, scoring seven goals over two seasons.

“This is a great opportunity for Nick and his family and we are pleased for him,” Sydney CEO Tony Pignata said.

“Nick has been a great player for the club and a very good role model in the Community and although we will miss him on and off the field he departs with our blessing.

“We have loaned Nick to Baniyas Sports Club for 12 months and we look forward to welcoming him back at Sydney FC in 12 months.”

Carle said he was grateful to the club for letting him follow up the chance to play overseas again.

“I-d like to thank Sydney FC for allowing me to play in the UAE for the next 12 months,” he said. “I have loved playing for Sydney FC and working with everyone at the club and I look forward to coming back next season."

Carle-s departure leaves the way open for Coach Ian Crook and Football Director Gary Cole to find a replacement for the fringe Socceroo with the Sky Blues having a marquee position available, as well as one foreign spot on the Hyundai A-League roster.

“It is disappointing that Nick is leaving Sydney FC but he has a great opportunity and we-ve already started the process of finding a replacement for this season,” Crook said.

“We now have a marquee spot and a foreign spot available so that gives us a unique set of circumstances to work with.
