Ninkovic gives Sydney FC two-week deadline after confirming offer from 'new club'
Sydney FC star Milos Ninkovic says he wants his future with the Hyundai A-League Champions sorted one way or the other in the next fortnight.
The former Serbia international made the stark comments to FOX Sports just minutes after his side pummelled Brisbane Roar 5-1 on Saturday night in his return to the Sky Blues line-up.
The 34-year old has been the subject of speculation that he may be on his way out of the Harbour City club at season’s end, with media reporting new Hyundai A-League club Macarthur FC have the former Johnny Warren Medalist in their sights.
While Ninkovic would not confirm who had made the approach to him for next season, he did confirm the interest and said he would give his current club just two weeks to secure his services beyond his current fourth season.
“I’ve got the offer from the new club,” Ninkovic admitted to FOX Sports.
“To be honest, I just want to be focused on the pitch now and I am still a Sydney FC player.”

“I have said many times I want to finish my career here but in life you never know what can happen tomorrow.”
“To be honest, for myself and for teammates, for everyone, it’s better to decide as soon as possible.
“I don’t want to wait til January or February.
“Even for my teammates, when you look at this talk around ‘Ninkovic goes there or there’, it is better for everyone if a decision is made in the next two weeks.”
He added: “For me it is very important to make the decision in the next two weeks.
“I just want to be focused on the game and that is the only thing I want now.”

Working in the Sky Blues’ favour in retaining their star is the club’s red-hot form and burgeoning on-field combinations that sees Ninkovic thriving alongside new teammates Alex Baumjohann and Kosta Barbarouses this season.
He admitted what head coach Steve Corica is building at Sydney FC this season has a special feel about it.
“It’s hard for me to say if it is the best team if you look at the past four or five years, but it is really a joy to play with this team,” Ninkovic said.
“I reckon three years ago when we broke all these records I think we were better with the ball, more dangerous with the ball and pressed up high.”
“But now I think we are more dangerous without the ball and every time I have the feeling when we go forward we can score the goal.”
