Strebre Delovski, Mathew Cheeseman and Peter Green join FFA Referees Department

Football Federation Australia (FFA) have announced that former Hyundai A-League Match Officials Strebre Delovski and Mathew Cheeseman have been appointed to the positions of Referees Advisor and Referees Manager, respectively, following a restructure of the referees department.

Recently retired Hyundai A-League referee Peter Green has also been appointed as a referees coach.

FFA’s Head of Leagues, Greg O’Rourke, said: “Following the recent resignation of Ben Wilson as the FFA Director of Referees, there was an opportunity for us to reassess how we manage referees at the elite level of the game.

“As a result, we felt that the needs of match officials would be best met by expanding the department and redistributing responsibilities between Strebre and Mat.

"Streb will become the conduit between the Hyundai A-League & Westfield W-League clubs and the Leagues on refereeing matters and Mat will take responsibility for the day to day.”

“To have former match officials of the caliber of Strebre (Delovski), Mathew (Cheeseman) and Peter (Green) now joining the Match Officials leadership group and giving back to the current panel can only be of great benefit to our game.”
