We’ve picked out three men who could be at the heart of this intriguing semi-final clash in Melbourne at Lakeside.
MILOS LUJIC
South Melbourne’s goal machine showed his class in the quarter-final win over Gold Coast City, netting a stylish brace.
Since arriving at Lakeside Stadium from Northcote City four years ago, Lujic has been a constant source of goals and has won a string of admirers and personal accolades.
He's scored over 100 goals for South in this time. Little wonder he's so loved at Lakeside.
The 27-year-old will relish the chance to lock horns with Sydney FC’s rearguard and may well hold the key to a first ever Westfield FFA Cup final appearance for a non-Hyundai A-League side.
MARCUS SCHROEN
The elegant, powerful midfielder plays a hugely influential role in the heart of South Melbourne’s engine-room.
Capable of both scoring goals and providing openings for others, the 24-year-old is a crucial cog in Chris Taylor’s side.
Having spent time with Melbourne City as a youngster before injury curtailed his career, Schroen will be desperate to impress against Hyundai A-League opposition.
And he knows about FFA Cup semi-finals, having played in one with the famous Hume side of recent years.
NICK EPIFANO
His club captain Bradley Norton described the player known as ‘Epa’ as “a gun” after he scored a brace against Sorrento FC in the round of 16.
His attacking ability also saw him singled out as a threat by Sky Blues coach Graham Arnold when the semi-final tie was confirmed.
The 23-year-old student scores and creates goals and finds space where none seems to exist, making him a firm fan favourite with the South Melbourne faithful.
