Brandon Borrello (SC Freiburg – Fortuna Dusseldorf, Loan)

On September 1, Socceroos winger Brandon Borrello departed SC Freiburg to join Fortuna Dusseldorf on a season-long loan.

He will be returning to the 2. Bundesliga, the league where he made a name for himself with FC Kaiserslautern in the 2017/18 season which saw him notch three goals and eight assists in his 19 matches.

Fortuna will be hoping that the ex-Brisbane Roar winger can recapture that kind of form as they look to make an instant return to the Bundesliga.

Mustafa Amini (re-joined AGF Aarhus)

On September 4, Mustafa Amini announced that he had re-joined Danish club AGF Aarhus on a four-month contract after a nightmare period in limbo which left him and his family stranded in Turkey.

Amini had departed Aarhus at the conclusion of his contract at the start of August and was on the lookout for a new adventure.

However, a number of unforeseen circumstances saw his move fall apart and it was his beloved Aarhus who offered him the chance to return to the club on a short-term contract as he looks to regain his fitness.
