‘She’s come to conquer Europe’: How social media reacted to Kerr’s Chelsea move

Social media went into overdrive as soon as it was revealed that Westfield Matildas skipper Sam Kerr had signed to play with English giants Chelsea.

The 26-year-old superstar inked a two-and-a-half year deal with the English Women’s Super League leaders on Wednesday in a move that will see Kerr play in Europe for the first time.

And it led to plenty of buzz on Twitter, with Kerr’s new Blues teammates quick to welcome her to the London club.

Kerr announced her club future in an exclusive interview with Fox Sports presenter Tara Rushton, who was among a host of the football media to congratulate the Australian captain.

But of course some of the best reactions came from the Chelsea and Westfield Matildas faithful, as fans were overjoyed that Kerr would soon be strutting her stuff in the WSL.
