Sydney FC defender Sebastian Ryall will become the 6th member of an exclusive Sky Blues club when he makes his 100th appearance for the club against Wellington Phoenix this Sunday evening (5pm AEDT).

He will join Terry McFlynn (190 apps), Clint Bolton (125), Steve Corica (123), Alex Brosque (110) and Iain Fyfe (104), as the players to have reached the landmark having played 96 times in the Hyundai A-League and three times in the Asian Champions League.

“I-m proud as I-m a Sydney boy and to make 100 games for this club I-m quite happy about that. I was a supporter of the club from day one and watched Dwight Yorke from the crowd and now to play for them is quite special,” he said.

“There has been quite a number of players who have turned over in the club so to survive I guess is good and I-ve been enjoying my football this year and we-re doing quite well.”

Ryall is one of the few Hyundai A-League players to have won the Championship with two different clubs having joined Sydney FC from Melbourne Victory in 2009.

The centre half has scored five times for the Sky Blues, including against the Phoenix in Wellington last season. The Kiwi-s are yet to win a game this season however Ryall is not expecting an easy ride.

“I think they-ve been a bit unlucky, the played last night and had some really good chances. They-re a really good side and I think we were actually quite lucky to get the result against them at home last time.

“We-re not expecting an easy match, they are going to fighting for their lives to get the win.”
