Round 6 preview: Melbourne City v Brisbane Roar

After recording a long-awaited first win of the season, Brisbane Roar are seeking to keep their their finals charge on course when the undefeated side square off against Melbourne City on Sunday.

Jake Goodship’s team were forced to settle for four straight draws before finally claiming maximum points in a 6-0 rout of Melbourne Victory, ahead of this trip to face the title holders in a Westfield W-League-A-League double header at AAMI Park.

Rado Vidosic’s defending Premiers and Champions need to bounce back from a 2-1 reverse against Adelaide United last Thursday in order to improve on their seventh-place position and stay in the hunt for a top-four finish.

The two clubs met in Round 1 at Dolphin Stadium, where Brisbane logged 30 shots on goal to City’s six but Westfield Matildas goalkeeper Teagan Micah and company kept the Queenslanders at bay to record a defiant 0-0 draw.
