Roar win would be big boost - Farina

Sydney FC Head Coach Frank Farina has stressed that playing attractive football and being consistent are key to the Sky Blues season, but has also indicated that results are a vital factor to any team-s success in the Hyundai A-League.

After triumphing with a free-flowing passing game against the Jets, Farina was quick to point out that not all games are going to be in the same mould and that sometimes Sydney will have to use all methods at their disposal to take the three points.

“It-s nice if we can play some attractive football but first and foremost we have to get results. If we can get some consistency in our game it-ll make the start last week worthwhile,” Farina said.

“This game and this League are all about results but we also all love to play attractive football.”

Sydney FC is expecting a tough test against the Roar as they travel to Suncorp Stadium, a venue where the Sky Blues have found results hard to come their way. Sydney last won there in the 2007/08 season when they triumphed 1-0.

“Brisbane has been a difficult trip for us, it-s been 6 years since Sydney have won up there,” said Farina.

“I-m expecting a tough game. They-re a very good side, they've been playing some really good football and they have some quality players.

“It-ll be a difficult game and if we can get a something out of this game it-ll be a huge confidence boost to everyone.”
