John Aloisi has moved to address the discrepancy by training his players in Queensland's midday sun in pursuit of gaining a vital edge over visitors.
The gruelling sessions seemed to serve them well last time out, coming from 2-0 down to secure a point at Western Sydney Wanderers, and Roar are now focused on converting their hard work into a first win of the campaign.
Experienced midfielder Thomas Kristensen believes the sacrifices made on the training ground will give them the edge, starting with Melbourne City's visit in rebel Female Football Round on Saturday night.
"We need to start not starting off getting behind all the time," Kristensen said. "We need to stay in the game then use the heat.
"That's why we train at this time of the day. Last year we trained a bit earlier but we can use the heat and hopefully we can do that on Saturday.
"I want all teams fearing to come here. That should be the goal and the only way you can do that is to win games."
Brazilian forward Henrique reiterated the importance of his side utilising their familiarity with the environment.
"We get used to the conditions here," he said.
"We train week in week out in the hot sun, [while] the teams coming up here are not used to it."
The 33-year-old fan favourite was also quick to downplay the significance of August's meeting with City in the FFA Cup, when they lost 1-0 in the final minute of extra-time.
"In a pre-season game it is always different and this is a three-point game," the attacker added.
"I think they're a good side, they've got good players, but we are prepared to play against any team and we just have to concentrate on ourselves and have a good game."
