In a busy morning for Brisbane Roar, the club have confirmed the capture of midfielder Liam Miller.

The former Miller Celtic and Manchester United player moves to the east coast after two season with Perth Glory, and the 32-year-old said his decision to move was made in consultation with his family.

“I-m very happy to be joining a club with such a strong football culture both on and off the pitch,” Miller said.

“My family were a huge part in my decision to sign for Brisbane and the close-knit nature of the playing group and the whole club made that decision easier for me."

Roar coach Mike Mulvey was delighted with Miller-s decision to join the Roar - his first player signing since his full-time appointment to the top job in February.

“On behalf of the club, I-d like to welcome Liam to Brisbane and say we-re very excited to have him on board with us,” Mulvey said.

“I see Liam as a key piece to our midfield puzzle - he brings experience and poise and a good work ethic.

“I can-t wait to see how he combines with the talent we already have here at Brisbane Roar.”

In other news, Roar have also announced a series of pre-season fixtures ahead of the 2013/14 Hyundai A-League draw.

Brisbane Roar will begin preparation for the Hyundai A-League 2013/14 season within the local football community with a series of pre-season matches against Brisbane Premier League and National Premier League clubs throughout July and August.

The former champions will face local clubs Lions FC, Albany Creek Excelsior, Brisbane City, Brisbane Strikers, Wynnum Wolves and Palm Beach, with a match against National Premier League club Western Pride scheduled for the middle of September, between the matches against other Hyundai A-League clubs.
