Report: Hill stars on Kerr's Perth Glory homecoming

Sam Kerr enjoyed a scoring homecoming to Perth Glory but it was Rachel Hill who did the majority of the damage in their Westfield W-League 3-0 win over Western Sydney Wanderers.

Hill scored either side of setting up Kerr in a ruthless victory, a result that moves Perth up to second in the table and leaves the Wanderers bottom after Round 3.

All eyes were on Kerr as she made her first appearance in Perth since returning to the Westfield W-League, having inspired her side to a remarkable 4-4 draw in Canberra before the international break.

But, with Kerr on the left flank, it was Hill who was playing centrally and burst into the area to rifle home an unstoppable effort in the 15th minute.

A tally of nine goals in 12 Westfield W-League appearances last season justified that positional call, but the American's effort was almost instantly cancelled out as Rachel Lowe struck the bar at the other end.

Western Sydney had the ball in the net just before the half-hour mark when Leena Khamis latched on to a quickly taken free-kick, but it was taken too soon for the referee's liking.

Hill turned provider four minutes before the break, dispossessing Maruschka Waldus as she attempted to shepherd the ball out of play before setting up Kerr to rifle home from close range.

The Wanderers had their fair share of chances to get back into the game, but the outcome was put beyond doubt when Hill turned brilliantly on the edge of the box before firing home via the underside of the bar in the 57th minute.

Kerr looked to double her tally late on but was denied superbly by Jada Mathyssen-Whyman, who was blameless in being beaten three times in a hard-to-take heavy loss for the visitors.
