Re-modelled Foord enjoying life back in the NWSL

Westfield Matildas star Caitlin Foord has revealed a shift in focus and training habits a couple of years ago have helped her become a stronger and more accomplished player.

In a wide-ranging interview with the Portland Thorns website, Foord talks about everything from her time in the NWSL, injury woes, her experiences in Japan and her return to America in 2018.

Always a player with undoubted talent, Foord has gone to another level over the last couple of years after increasing her work in the gym rather than just focusing on her training on the pitch.

“I used to get pushed off the field, a little bit,” Foord told www.timbers.com.

“Now, I feel like I can hold my ground.

“I feel like that would be the biggest difference from when I’d gone away and come back [to the NWSL].”
