Heidelberg United booked a spot in the FFA Cup Quarter Finals with a penalty shootout win over Sydney United 58.

Re-live the Magic of the Cup: Bergers on fire in Sydney

Heidelberg United defeated Sydney United 4-3 on penalties in an absolute Cup classic last August in the Round of 16.

With Nikas and Fragogianni missing their spot kicks, the Bergers' fairytale run continued as they progressed into the final eight at Sydney's Edensor Park, after scores were locked at 1-1 following extra-time.

George Katsakis' side appeared set to progress after 110 minutes when Sean Ellis smashed home Kenny Athiu's flicked header.

But incredibly, with just under 90 seconds remaining, Sydney super-sub Adrian Vranic equalised with a low finish after a Panny Nikas through ball.

Heidelberg goalkeeper Christopher Theodoridis was the hero by saving Yianni Fragogiannis' attempt to win the shootout.

Heidelberg had eliminated Perth Glory in the round of 32 before winning Victoria's Dockerty Cup and becoming state NPL premiers the previous weekend.

It capped a stunning 2017 for the club. And boy did their fans in Sydney enjoy it.
