Qantas extends its commitment to Football Federation Australia

The stability and growth of football in Australia has taken another substantial leap forward with Qantas today announcing an extension of its partnership with Football Federation Australia (FFA).

Qantas is the long term official airline of Australia’s two senior national teams, the Socceroos and Westfield Matildas, but has now increased its sponsorship to also include the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League.

The announcement that Australia's national airline will continue its commitment to the growth of Australian football is the second major re-signing of one of FFA’s partners in the last week.

“Qantas has been a fantastic partner and supporter of football over a long period and their decision to further their involvement into the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League is terrific news for the game,” said FFA CEO David Gallop.

“This is the second re-signing of one of our key partners in the space of a week, signalling not only the sustained growth in the game and specifically FFA’s two flagship domestic competitions, but also a firm belief by our partners in the direction football in Australia is heading.”

Qantas Group Executive Brand Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Olivia Wirth,  said the airline is delighted to build on its contribution and reaffirm its support to football.

"Qantas is very proud to extend our partnership with the Football Federation Australia as it builds on our position as the official airline of the Socceroos and Westfield Matildas,” said Wirth.

"We welcome the inclusion of the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League to our stable of sports sponsorships and we welcome their fans to fly with us to watch their teams play.

"As the airline that champions the Spirit of Australia - we look forward to welcoming fans on board.”
