Pogba and Lukaku named in Manchester United's pre-season tour of Australia

Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku have been included in Manchester United’s squad as the Premier League club prepares to arrive in Australia for their pre-season tour.

The 20-time champions of England are due to arrive in Perth on Monday (AEST) ahead of friendlies with Hyundai A-League Premiers Perth Glory on Saturday and traditional rivals Leeds United on Wednesday 17 July.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has named World Cup-winning Frenchman Pogba and prolific Belgian striker Lukaku in a 28-man roster set to take part in the club’s visit to WA in 44 years.

SOLSKJAER: 'We can't wait to get started'

New signings Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James, transfer window signings from Crystal Palace and Swansea City respectively, have also been involved, but Chile star Alexis Sanchez misses out due to his Copa America involvement.

Other first-team players Matteo Darmian and Fred have not travelled due to family reasons.

The Red Devils – who finished sixth in the Premier League last season - will play Perth at Optus Stadium on Saturday 13 July, 7pm AWST, 9pm AEST, before entertaining Leeds United on Wednesday 17 July, 7pm AWST, 9pm AEST.

They then travel on to Singapore to play Inter Milan and Shanghai to face Tottenham Hotspur in the International Champions Cup, before kicking off their Premier League campaign with a blockbuster at Old Trafford against Chelsea on 12 August.
