He was on the end of a clattering challenge but in-form Adelaide United attacker Craig Goodwin insists there is no bad blood between himself and Brisbane Roar playmaker Stefan Mauk.
Goodwin felt the full force of a lunging Mauk tackle in the Reds’ 2-1 win on Friday night, with the Roar substitute shown a red card for the tackle.
Mauk, a former teammate of Goodwin when Adelaide won the double in 2015/16, was knocked out in the challenge and had to be assisted from the field by Roar medical staff.

While Goodwin was lucky not to have been hurt himself in the incident, he says there are no hard feelings towards Mauk.
“I went and saw him straight after the game,” Goodwin said on a Fox Sports Podcast.
“The tackle happened and I was on the ground and didn’t know he’d been knocked out and when I got up all I saw was him stuttering and trying to stay on his feet.
“After the game spoke to him and obviously I’m friends with Stef and we were both in Holland together. All good, all good.”
