Melbourne Heart have conducted three talent identification sessions in the last fortnight throughout regional Victoria in a bid to boost the depth of their Youth League squad.

Led by the Club-s National Youth League coach Joe Palatsides, the purpose of the sessions has been to promote Melbourne Heart throughout Victoria and identify talent for the Club-s 2013-14 NYL squad.

The Club has partnered with a number of local associations to promote the trials, giving aspiring footballers from regional Victoria the opportunity to showcase their ability to Melbourne Heart-s coaching staff.

Palatsides said he had been impressed by the talent he had seen so far.

“In the last two weeks we have conducted trials in regional Victoria in an attempt to reach out to as many young talented players in Victoria as possible,” Palatsides said.

“We believe that every young player deserves the chance to display his talent and be given the opportunity of realising his dream of taking a step towards becoming a professional footballer.

“So far we have travelled to the centres of Geelong, Bendigo, Shepparton and Gippsland. We hope to invite some of the players to Heart HQ to have another look at them.

“I have enjoyed meeting all the young players who have trialled and I have been pleasantly surprised by their standard of play."

Melbourne Heart have said players who impress at their regional trials will be invited to Melbourne to participate in further trials for the Club's National Youth League team.
