Opta reveals every club's best player from Round 25

There were huge individual performances across Round 25 of the Hyundai A-League.

But which player from your club stood head and shoulders above the rest?

Thanks to Opta data, let's take a look at each club's best performers from Round 25.

Adelaide United - Isaias

When Isaias plays well, Adelaide United play well.

Although unable to steer his side to three points in Saturday's 0-0 truce with Melbourne City, the Spaniard was essential in earning a vital point on the road for Marco Kurz's men.

He created two scoring chances on the night, won a team-high 10 duels and finished with a passing accuracy of 91%.

Brisbane Roar - Eric Bautheac

Attacker Eric Bautheac resembled a player itching to make a statement in Friday's 2-1 victory against Wellington Phoenix.

And the Frenchman did exactly that, netting a double, making a joint team-high five shots and creating four goal scoring chances for his teammates.

A late red card was the only blemish on a brilliant performance, one that will have reminded the Roar, and indeed the rest of the competition, of the former Ligue 1 man's ability.

Central Coast Mariners - Matt Millar

Death, taxes and Opta declaring Matt Millar as the best-performing Central Coast Mariner from the weekend action. These are, as former US President Benjamin Franklin might have said, some of life's certainties.  

The Newcastle Jets-bound flyer was once again superb in his side's narrow 2-1 defeat to Melbourne Victory, making a team-high five open play crosses and winning seven of 10 duels contested.

Millar also combined his attacking threat with defensive diligence, making four clearances and two interceptions. 

Melbourne City - Eugene Galekovic

Saturday's stalemate between Melbourne City and Adelaide featured a fine display of goalkeeping from City gloveman Eugene Galekovic and the visitors' shot stopper Paul Izzo. 

Hyundai A-League veteran Galekovic was in unbeatable form, making five saves – the most of any keeper to keep a clean sheet this round.

The 37-year-old has played a vital part in establishing an 11-game unbeaten run at home for Warren Joyce's side.

Melbourne Victory - Georg Niedermeier

The former Bayern Munich youth picked a great time to net his debut Hyundai A-League goal.

Niedermeier's late strike helped Victory over the line in Sunday's defeat of the Mariners, using all of his considerable power in the area to drive home the winner in the 2-1 win.

The burly defender also made the third most passes of any player (76) at an accuracy of 87%.

Newcastle Jets - Glen Moss

Perth Glory may have clinched the Premiers Plate in Sunday's 1-0 win over Newcastle Jets, but goalkeeper Glen Moss did his level best to spoil the party.

Moss denied Perth with a string of excellent saves – seven in total, including four from outside the box.

Ultimately, only a piece of Diego Castro magic and a firm Ivan Franjic finish could usurp the impressive shot stopper.

Perth Glory - Ivan Franjic

Six open play crosses, three-out-of-three duels contested, one goal and one Premiers Plate won for Perth Glory – Sunday will go down as quite the evening for Ivan Franjic.

The Perth defender played a crucial role in pinning the stoic Jets rearguard further and further back in their onslaught, and Franjic would have registered a hat-full of assists but for some of Glen Moss' heroics and the linesman's offside flag.

Franjic now has three Hyundai A-League Premierships to his name, having previously picked up two with Brisbane Roar (2011/12, 2013/14).

Sydney FC - Alex Brosque

One half of football was all Alex Brosque needed to stamp his mark on the Sydney derby yet again.

Brosque was all action in the opening half, breaking the deadlock in the seventh minute – his sixth derby goal – and also contesting five duels.

Having announced his retirement two days later, it was a fitting way for the Sky Blues skipper to bow out of a contest he has dominated since the rivalry's inception. Wanderers will be more than happy to chip in for a 'good luck with your future' card. 

Wellington Phoenix - Filip Kurto

Wellington's Pole in goal has proven one of the finds of the Hyundai A-League season.

And Filip Kurto proved his value to the Phoenix cause yet again in the club's frustrating 2-1 loss to the Roar on Friday.

Kurto made six saves – including an incredible reaction stop from Brisbane midfielder Thomas Kristensen (see below) – and finished with a save ratio of 75%.

Western Sydney Wanderers - Alexander Baumjohann

The German playmaker's quality ultimately shone through for Western Sydney Wanderers in their 1-1 Sydney derby draw against their Sky Blue rivals.

Alexander Baumjohann looked the likely source of an equaliser, and it came in the form of a second-half free kick which proved the final nail in the coffin of Sydney FC's Premiership ambitions.

In addition, Baumjohann created two goalscoring chances, made 44 touches and completed three tackles.
