Wollongong Wolves surged six points clear at the top of the NPL NSW table after their 4-0 win over APIA Leichhardt Tigers on Saturday evening.
The South Coast-based outfit – managed by former Caltex Socceroo Luke Wilkshire – scored all four goals in the second half, with red-hot English striker Thomas James adding a double to bring his tally to 15 goals for the campaign.
“We played some great football and we did what we wanted to do which is obviously to win games, score goals and entertain the crowd,” Wilkshire said.
Elsewhere, Blacktown City leapfrogged Sydney United 58 into third place with a 4-2 victory over the Reds away from home.

Victoria
Dandenong City’s revival continued as Brendon Santalab scored his first goals for the NPL Victoria strugglers in their 3-0 win over South Melbourne on Friday.
Santalab – who joined the Endeavour Hills-based outfit alongside ex-Melbourne Victory players Carl Valeri and Adrian Leijer in May – was at the double to bring the former National Soccer League giants to their knees.
Dandenong had secured just eight points from 13 games prior to the arrival of the ex-Hyundai A-League trio but have tallied four in their last two without conceding following a 0-0 draw with leaders Avondale last week.

Northern New South Wales
Former youth product and Hyundai A-League midfielder Andrew Hoole returned but couldn’t inspire Broadmeadow Magic to beat Edgeworth in Sunday’s 2018 NNSW Grand Final rematch.
As a result of their 0-0 stalemate, the Ruben Zadkovich-coached side have relinquished their lead to Weston Bears, who beat Hamilton 4-2.
All of the matches were postponed.

Reigning champions Perth SC continue to lead the way in WA after a 3-1 win over Sorrento with Michael Domfeh scoring twice.
The NPL WA competition has now reached its halfway point, and with the unbeaten Azzuri nine points clear of the chasing pack it will take a herculean effort for another challenger to prise the title away from them the West Perth-based club.

An equaliser in the fourth minute of stoppage time from Jack Yull saw West Adelaide snatch a 1-1 draw with Campbelltown City.
But fortunately for the reigning champions, second placed Adelaide Blue Eagles were unable to capitalise – they were hammered 5-0 by MetroStars.

Peninsula Power motored to their 16th win of the campaign after beating Brisbane Strikers 4-2 on Saturday.
The all-conquering power have lost just once from their 17 fixtures – a 2-1 loss to Lions on May 18 – and have a seven-point gap over the second-placed Lions.

Devonport Strikers continue to lead the way in Tasmania after defeating Kingborough Lions 3-2.
They’ve got a six-point gap over Olympia Warrios, who beat Hobart Zebras 3-1.

The unbeaten record of Tigers FC came crashing down on Sunday after a 3-1 shock defeat to Gungahlin United.
