Ulises Davila scores goals, creates assists, can play in two different positions. No wonder Wellington Phoenix coach Ufuk Talay believes the Mexican attacker will be a hit for the Kiwi club over the next two Hyundai A-League seasons.
Davila, a former Mexico U20 star who once penned a five-year deal at Premier League giants Chelsea, signed a two-year deal with the Phoenix on Friday.

He could be the heir apparent to Kiwi starlet Sarpreet Singh, who joined Bayern Munich earlier in the week and leaves a central attacking role vacant.
Davila last played in the Indian Super League with Delhi Dynamos under the tutelage of former Adelaide United and Western Sydney Wanderers boss Josep Gombau.
"He's a creative midfielder, he can assist our strikers, he scores goals himself, he's a player that plays in that No.10 role that can dribble at players,” said Phoenix boss Talay on Friday.
"He's versatile, we can play him in two different positions, and also bringing this experience in is very important because firstly he's a good player but he's a good person as well.”
Davila, who will wear the No. 10 kit for the Phoenix next season, said he’d heard ‘very good things’ about the New Zealand capital.
"I know the team has great players, great talent and the project which the Phoenix have, the way that Ufuk wants to play, that is what I like and why I choose to come,” he said.
“I think it is a very good project.”
