It's officially crunch time in National Premier Leagues action across the country, with the finals series heating up in South Australia and a Premier crowned in New South Wales.
Here's our wrap of the weekend action:
NEW SOUTH WALES
Sydney Olympic have been crowned 2018 National Premier Leagues NSW Premiers after a nail biting final round which featured plenty of twists and turns.
Olympic took out the Premiership with victory against Sydney United 58, but it was only made possible because of Hakoah Sydney City East’s shock upset of APIA Leichhardt Tigers.
It was a result not expected by many NPL NSW fans but will now set up a blockbuster finals series.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
Paul Zimarino’s injury time winner for Perth SC against Inglewood United on Saturday ensured the NPL WA title race will go into the final two rounds.
With the score at Dorrien Gardens locked at 1-1 and leaders Perth Glory on their way to a comfortable 3-1 victory at Armadale, only a most unlikely set of results in the next fortnight would have denied John Gibson’s side the championship.
But with 93 minutes on the clock, Zimarino got on the end of Frank Furfaro’s pass to slide in the winner and ensure the purple ribbons of Glory remained untied for at least one more week.
QUEENSLAND
A resounding 6-0 win for Lions FC over Cairns FC has opened up a six-point gap over second-placed Western Pride in the NPL QLD.
The result means the competition leaders can seal the title with a point next weekend.
Western Pride defeated Brisbane Roar youth 5-1.
VICTORIA
Heidelberg United continue to lead the way in Victoria after defeating Green Gully 4-1.
The Bergers remain four points ahead of second placed Bentleigh Greens – who needed two goals in the final two minutes of their clash against Avondale to remain in the title hunt.
ACT
Canberra FC pushed five points clear at the top of the table with a convincing win over Tuggeranong United.
Tigers FC ended the finals hopes of Belconnen United as they came from a goal down to win 3-2 at Nijong Oval and improve their own chances of a top two finish.
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
Metro Stars will take on Adelaide United in round two of the finals after victories in their respective elimination finals on the weekend.
Campbelltown and Adelaide City are also set to square off in the second leg of their two-legged tie, which ended 0-0 on the weekend.
TASMANIA
South Hobart kept their title hopes alive, downing Devonport 3-2 to cut the gap to the leaders to just three points.
All three of their goals came in the opening half hour, racing out to a 3-0 lead before they were forced to survive a storming second-half fightback.
NORTHERN NSW
Edgeworth extended their lead at the top to eight points after clinching a 1-0 win over Lake Macquarie.
That result was made all the more sweeter by a 3-0 loss for second-placed Broadmeadow Magic, who went down to Hamilton Olympic.
