Football Federation Australia (FFA) and NAB, together with Perth Glory, are proud to announce Jamie Maclaren as the April nominee for the NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2014/15 Award.
Maclaren finished the Hyundai A-League 2014/15 season in scintillating style which included a hat-trick against Melbourne City FC in round 26.
After hearing of the nomination, Maclaren was honoured to receive the nomination and also paid tribute to his teammates at Perth Glory for helping him get the votes.

“Obviously it’s a great honour to receive this nomination with so many talented young players in the league,” Maclaren said.
“I wouldn’t have got the goals I got during the season without the support of my teammates so a big thanks to them too..
“I’m looking forward to seeing my fellow nominees, who are also amongst some of my closest friends in football, at the awards night to see who takes the title.”
This is the Maclaren’s first nomination for the NAB Young Footballer of the Year Award.

Maclaren is the final contender for the title of NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2014/15 along with Brisbane Roar FC’s Brandon Bofrello (March nominee), Adelaide United’s Jimmy Jeggo (December nominee), Western Sydney Wanderers striker Tomi Juric (November nominee) and Sydney FC’s Terry Antonis (October nominee). Due to the Hyundai A-League break for the Asian Cup, there was no nominee for January while Melbourne City defender Connor Chapman (February nominee) is ineligible having received a red card.
The NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2014/15 will be announced at the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League 2014/15 Awards Night on Monday 11 May 2015.

NAB has generously donated a $1,500 equipment pack and $1,000 in a NAB Community Saver Account to Jamie’s chosen junior club.
The overall winner of the NAB Young Footballer of the Year 2014/15 Award will receive a $10,000 personal investment portfolio, along with a NAB Private Client Manager to assist with a range of banking and financial services.

Each month representatives from the football media and the FFA Technical department vote on a 3-2-1 basis for the most outstanding U-23 players in the Hyundai A-League during that period.
