Brisbane Roar coach Mike Mulvey declared his team are 'on a mission' after dismantling Melbourne Victory 3-0 at AAMI Park on Saturday night.

Goals to Liam Miller, Matt McKay and Dimitri Petratos earned the A-League leaders their first win in Melbourne in nine attempts.

Mulvey was delighted with the way his players put Victory to the sword as well as the quality of football on display.

"We put on a very good performance in Sydney last week and we backed it up tonight," Mulvey said.

"That's always the aim, you set the bar and you have got to keep to it.

"I'm extremely happy with the players tonight because they were very good and training was excellent during the week so things are going along quite nicely at the moment.

"I wasn't looking at the clock or wondering when full-time was – I was just enjoying us play.

"We were making a very good team chase, chase and chase and that is very difficult to do.

"That tells you about the quality of our football at times tonight."

With the prolific Besart Berisha likely to return from injury next week, Mulvey believes the side can go from strength to strength if they keep putting in the hard yards at training.

"We turn up for the next training session and keep doing what we have been doing," he said.

"We are on a mission – we are not looking for overnight success, we're looking for long-term success.

"That means putting in a shift every single training session to make sure that the next performance can hopefully eclipse the one before."

The Roar will host Adelaide United at Suncorp Stadium next Saturday night as they attempt to extend their seven-point lead over the second-placed Western Sydney Wanderers.
