Melbourne Victory midfielder Mark Milligan has been handed a two-match suspension following the Independent Match Review Panel's review of the Melbourne Derby.
The panel - consisting of Simon Micallef (Chair), Alan Davidson and Alan Contini - convened to consider an incident involving Milligan and Jonatan Germano around the 14th minute of the Victory's game against Melbourne Heart on Saturday.
In reviewing the incident during this afternoon's meeting, the MRP said it took into consideration submissions lodged by the Victory.
"The MRP determined that the Player had committed the offence of "Assault on a Player (e.g. violent conduct when not challenging for the ball)" against Jonatan Germano and proposed a sanction of the Mandatory Match Suspension plus one (1) addition Match," the panel's statement said.
"This is the minimum sanction for such an offence under the A-League Disciplinary Regulations."
