The first titles are up for grabs this weekend!
There’s one Aussie involved in the UEFA Women’s Champions League Final, and all five of the Scandinavian-based Westfield Matildas are also in action on the weekend. Meanwhile, preseason preparations are ramping up in England, the Netherlands and Spain.
France
Ellie Carpenter’s Olympique Lyonnais are aiming for their fifth consecutive UEFA Women’s Champions League title when they face German powerhouse VfL Wolfsburg on Sunday at 4am (AEST). Should the French giant be victorious in the Final, it will be the seventh time they are crowned as European champions.

Sweden
Emily Gielnik has three goals in her last two games and will aim to follow on from last weekend’s 90th minute winner against Eskilstuna United.
Her Vittsjö side host last placed Växjö in the Damallsvenskan on Sunday at 11pm (AEST). Vittsjö are looking for their third win in a row, but they need to keep the results coming if they are to stay clear of the relegation zone.
Norway
Clare Polkinghorne and Katrina Gorry have their next Toppserien game on Saturday at 9:00pm (AEST). Avaldsnes defeated Klepp 2-1 in midweek and are now looking to extend their unbeaten run to five games against bottom team Røa Dynamite Girls.
Arna-Bjørnar and Teagan Micah will try and get back to winning ways after Wednesday’s 1-0 defeat to Sandviken. They travel to title chasing Rosenborg BK Kvinner, kickoff is at 9:30pm (AEST) on Sunday.
This game is followed shortly afterwards by a huge clash, as second placed LSK Kvinner (featuring Karly Roestbakken) have an away game against fourth placed Sandviken on Monday at midnight (AEST).
England
The first title of the new English domestic season will be up for grabs this weekend.
Sam Kerr and Chelsea FC will looking to add another piece of silverware as they battle Manchester City on Saturday at 9:30pm (AEST).
"I’m so excited to play, it’s been a while and it’s a great fixture to start our campaign,’ she told chelseafc.com.
"Man City are one of the best teams in the league and probably Europe so it’s going to be exciting.
We want to start the season on a high so it’s a big game for us and anytime there’s a trophy at stake it’s super exciting."
"Last year when I played in the game against them it was one of the most difficult matches, but we’ve been working really hard and we’re ready for it.
Kerr looked to be in goalscoring form at training with the striker looking pretty happy with the how preparations are going.
The Community Shield action will be available for Aussies to view on the FA Player.
Elsewhere in England, clubs are getting ready for the start of the new FA WSL campaign, which is just over a week away. Hayley Raso has been tuning up with Everton as they prepare to face Chloe Logarzo's Bristol City first up.
Mackenzie Arnold also received camera time this week, and it won’t be long until we find out if she’s won the battle to be West Ham United’s starting goalkeeper. Arnold has had a number of pre-season minutes in the nets for the Hammers and the three time Westfield W-League Goalkeeper of the Year will be looking make her mark in the WSL.
Spain
No start date has been confirmed for the Primera Iberdrola, but Jenna McCormick continues to work hard in preseason while she settles at Real Betis.
