Matchweek 4 preview: Newcastle Jets v Brisbane Roar

Newcastle Jets need to pick themselves up quickly as they search for their first A-League points of the season against Brisbane Roar on Wednesday.

The Jets fell 2-1 against Macarthur FC in the Hunter on Sunday and interim coach Craig Dean’s side face a fast turnaround, returning to the McDonald Jones Stadium pitch to face the Queenslanders 72 hours later.

Newcastle have also been beaten by the Central Coast Mariners, 1-0, and Western Sydney Wanderers, 2-1, this season and they will be determined to get off the mark against a Roar side that have delivered mixed performances in their two games so far.

Warren Moon’s team struggled to get going in their opening round 1-0 loss against Melbourne City before turning on the style in a 3-1 road win against Melbourne Victory. Attacking trio Scott McDonald, Dylan Wenzel-Halls and Jay O’Shea all starred in their last match back on January 2.
