Last week they were outplayed in the midfield by the Victory but coach Jamie Harnwell will at least be buoyed by a strong-willed second-half display. The ongoing absence of captain and striker Kate Gill continues to be felt, but Canada international Cristina Julien looks more than capable in front of goal having netted twice thus far.
Adelaide United have proven to be one of the revelations of the season thus far under new coach Ross Aloisi. The Lady Reds have turned in three spirited performances for a win, draw, and a loss. In theory they could go even go top come Saturday night. It was an unlikely scenario at the start of the campaign having been wooden-spooners for the past three seasons on the trot.
