Central Coast Mariners will play the first ever Hyundai A-League match at the iconic North Sydney Oval when the Club hosts Wellington Phoenix on Thursday 19 December.

The match is part of a festive football feast for the Mariners and is shaping as a crucial fixture for the defending Hyundai A-League Champions as they aim to climb their way to the competition-s summit once again.

With one in five Mariners Members residing south of the Brooklyn Bridge and tens of thousands of active male and female players in Northern Suburbs Football Association (NSFA), Central Coast Mariners view taking a game to North Sydney Oval as an ideal way to broaden its fan-base and entice more supporters to barrack for the team at Gosford-s Bluetongue Stadium.

Moreover, up to 60,000 people currently make the daily commute from the Central Coast to Sydney for work. Ordinarily, some Mariners supporters may not able to make a 7:30pm kick-off in Gosford due to travel times, however it is hoped many will choose to factor the fixture into their route home.
