Manchester United to play A-League All Stars in Sydney

Manchester United will come to Sydney to take on a Hyundai A-League All Stars team on Saturday July 20, 2013.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) in conjunction with the NSW Government and Destination NSW has today confirmed that English Premier League (EPL) giants Manchester United will play the A-League All Stars at ANZ Stadium in Sydney next July.

The international exhibition match on Saturday 20 July will be exclusive to Sydney in the only appearance by Manchester United in Australia during the club-s 2013 pre-season tour.

Manchester United is set to bring out its full squad in preparation for the 2013-14 EPL season.

United-s current squad includes England striker Wayne Rooney, Dutch ace Robin van Persie and the evergreen Ryan Giggs.

It will be United-s first visit to Australia since the two-match tour in 1999.

The A-League All Stars will represent the best of the Hyundai A-League with the team to be preselected by fans.

Tickets go on sale to the Football Family in an exclusive pre-sale window from 9am AEDT tomorrow (Tuesday 11 December). Public on sale commences at 9am AEDT on Wednesday 12 December.


The first two public ticket releases were exhausted in record time. There will be a final public on-sale in late April.

FFA CEO David Gallop has hailed the confirmation of the high-profile match as another great opportunity to showcase Australian football.
