Mabil rewarded with spot in FIFA 19 Team of the Week

Caltex Socceroos attacker Awer Mabil has been rewarded for his excellent form with a spot in the latest FIFA 19 Team of the Week.

The former Adelaide United man hit the headlines in October when he scored on his Caltex Socceroos debut - a 4-0 success in Kuwait.

And he returned to Danish club Midtjylland full of confidence, as shown in an excellent run of form since.

Mabil has scored three goals in the past month and was at his brilliant best in Midtjylland’s 5-0 win over Vejle in Denmark’s Superliga on Monday morning (AEDT).

Just before linking up with the Caltex Socceroos squad, Mabil scored two goals and added two assists in a man-of-the-match performance.

Mabil was among the substitutes in the FIFA 19 Team of the Week, a side that features the likes of Manchester City midfielder David Silva, Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus and Paris Saint-Germain forward Edinson Cavani.

Mabil's individual stats have been boosted, too, with the 23-year-old’s overall rating now a 76.

Mabil's pace on the game is now at 93, while his dribbling sits at 80.

The FIFA 19 Team of the Week is released by EA Sports on a weekly basis and is made up of players who are excelling for club and country.

Mabil is the second Australian to feature in a FIFA 19 Team of the Week, after Adelaide United star Craig Goodwin was picked last week.
