Caltex Socceroos defender James Meredith has committed his future to Millwall, signing a new long-term deal with the Championship club.
Meredith has a superb debut season for the club in 2017/18, appearing in all 46 league games as the Lions went close to making the end-of-season playoffs.

His consistent performances saw Meredith earn a spot in Bert van Marwijk’s 23-player squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ in Russia, although he didn’t feature in any of Australia’s games.
The 30-year-old, who spent five seasons with Bradford before joining Millwall, has only just returned to training and made his first appearance of the pre-season in the weekend’s win over Cambridge United.
“It’s nice…I’m really happy to agree terms, sign again and further my career at Millwall,” the left-back said on the club’s official website.
“We’ve got a really exciting future here."
Meredith added: “I had a great time [at the World Cup], it was amazing to be there.
“We worked very hard and unfortunately couldn’t get the results we wanted, but it was a fantastic experience and I learnt a lot while I was there.”
Lions boss Neil Harris was delighted to secure Meredith’s signature, rating the experienced Aussie as one of the key players in his side’s push for promotion in coming seasons.
“He [Meredith] had an exceptional season last year. Statistics show that he was one of the best in the division in his position and popular opinion backs it up,” Harris said.
“James is settled in London and in our dressing room. He has made monumental progression as a player, culminating in his call-up to Australia’s World Cup squad, which was all down to his fine form on the pitch and professionalism off it.”
Millwall opens their Championship campaign with a massive home clash against Middlesbrough on August 4.
