We were treated to two intriguing games in the Hyundai A-League on Sunday, with Wellington Phoenix almost becoming the first team to lower Perth Glory’s colours this season.

Only a late goal to Spanish maestro Diego Castro saved the league leaders, who salvaged a 1-1 draw at Westpac Stadium.

While Melbourne City put a difficult week behind them to record a much-needed win over the Newcastle Jets at AAMI Park.
