Both F3 Derby combatants celebrated victories on Saturday night as Newcastle Jets and Central Coast Mariners netted nine goals between them.

Ernie Merrick's men saved perhaps their finest performance of the season for Round 26, completely overwhelming Brisbane Roar on the way to a 6-1 success at Suncorp Stadium.

Roy O'Donovan and Joey Champness both grabbed braces in that win and Matt Simon did likewise in Gosford.

The Central Coast captain converted a second-half penalty to go with a hammer of a free-kick as Alen Stajcic side's prevailed 3-1 against Western Sydney Wanderers, for whom Mark Bridge scored in his 250th Hyundai A-League appearance.
