They hear the latest from assistant coach Rene Meuleensteen for his take on the Jordan game and preparation for Palestine, while FFA Chairman Chris Nikou speaks about developing relationships with Asia.

There’s also an extensive chat with team chef Vini Capovilla.

Socceroos Assistant coach Rene Meulensteen (2m:25s)

Meulensteen is confident the team will bounce back quickly and feels there’s no need to panic despite the loss to Jordan.

“We have a clear vision of what we want and that’s not going to change. We have a fantastic positive environment which will see us through next few games,” he said.

FFA chairman Chris Nikou (4m:26s)

Nikou talks about the importance of the tournament, not just on the pitch but also off it.

“It’s fundamental for FFA to engage with our Asian colleagues off the park, enhance relationships and standing in the AFC and create a pathway for clubs in Australia to broaden their horizons.”

Socceroos chef Vini Capovilla (8m:51s)

The Socceroos chef talks about his role with the national team, recounts a funny story on what happened on the day of the Asian Cup final four years ago and revealed former Socceroo Mark Bresciano’s love of waffles.

“I loved Bresc, he loved my waffles in the morning, I hope he doesn’t kill me next time I see him,” Capovilla said.

“He was the only one eating waffles from the buffet at the team but I still made it every day because if one guy wants some waffles I’ll do it for him.

“I always remember this because every morning I wake up cooking 20 waffles and I knew only one was going to be eaten but it’s worth it.”
