‘Leader, legend, captain’: Tributes flow for retiring Brosque

It's going to be an end of an era at Sydney FC after news that skipper Alex Brosque will pull the curtain down on his 18-year professional career come the end of the Hyundai A-League season.

Brosque will leave the club as the Sky Blues’ most successful ever captain, as well as being the club’s greatest-ever scorer and appearance maker.

News of the 35-year-old’s decision to retire has led to a groundswell of reaction from teammates, rivals and fans on social media.
