Le Fondre alongside Mané and Vardy in FIFA 20 Team of the Week

Adam le Fondre has soared ahead in the race for the Hyundai A-League Golden Boot after scoring five goals in two games, and his red-hot form has been rewarded with his inclusion in the EA Sports FIFA 20 Team of the Week.

Sydney FC’s number nine has been unstoppable of late as he surged past Jamie Maclaren as the outright leading goal scorer in the Hyundai A-League this season, with 10 goals to his name from just eight games.

And now, the Englishman joins the likes of Sadio Mané, Jamie Vardy, Memphis Depay and Raphael Varane in a star-studded line-up of ‘in-form’ Ultimate Team cards to be used in EA Sports FIFA 20.

Sydney FC v Central Coast Mariners

It was a fantastic week for le Fondre who scored twice against Western United in Round 8 of the Hyundai A-League campaign before scoring a 'perfect hat-trick' against Brisbane Roar just six days later.

His first goal against the Roar came when he reacted quickest in the box to touch the ball home on his left.

His second was a beautiful curler off his right which stumped Jamie Young in the Roar goal and his third came in the dying minutes of the game with a close-range header which sealed the hat-trick, and his place in the EA Sports FIFA 20 Team of the Week.

Le Fondre's TOTW card

After Maclaren made all the early running in the 2019/20 Hyundai A-League Golden Boot race le Fondre has pegged him back, scoring eight goals in his last five games.

With the Golden Boot now well and truly in his sights, le Fondre is ready to consolidate his one-goal advantage over the Aussie striker when Sydney FC host Central Coast Mariners at Nestrata Jubilee Stadium on Saturday night (7:30pm AEDT).
