Larissa Crummer taken aback by sea of green and gold

Larissa Crummer has praised the support the Westfield Matildas have received home and abroad as they prepare for their ‘Seven Consulting International Series' against Chile in November.

The Westfield Matildas face Chile on Saturday, November 10 at Penrith Stadium, before the second game kicks off in Newcastle on November 13.

Crummer said that while representing her country was amazing, the support made it all the more worthwhile.

"It is something special. When we were in Europe, you could see a crowd of green and gold in the stands, so it's definitely something special," said Crummer.

"We're all pretty excited, especially with the two games at home so we can't wait to get into camp."

Few fans need reminding of what happened last time the Westfield Matildas hosted international opposition at Penrith and Newcastle.

Our girls announced themselves on the world stage with 2-1 and 3-2 wins over heavyweights Brazil, but perhaps more impressive was their flair and ability under pressure.

Crummer, 22, praised her teammates and how their recent achievements have elevated the status of the Westfield Matildas.

"I think more people are starting to get more knowledge about the Westfield Matildas," said Crummer.

"And the things Sam Kerr is doing is definitely helping us out as well, so it's been good.

"It's actually really exciting to be part of the squad, especially in Newcastle so I can't wait. There's a lot of talk around town so the more people that come out, the better."
