Jamieson eyeing NPL return

Scott Jamieson is still on the long road to recovery, but there is light at the end of the tunnel for the 25 year old Perth Glory favourite.

It-s been a slow and tough journey so far for the likable defender, and as he continues to progress towards full fitness, there is a determination not to take the game he loves for granted once he returns to action.

“You never quite realise how much you appreciate and miss the game until you get an injury like this” said Jamieson.

“I have never really had a long term injury before this one, so it makes you sit back and really look at how much playing means to you and that-s why I-m putting in the hard yards now so I will be fit and raring to go once I get the all clear.”

Scott went on to add “I've only just returned to being able to do sustained running, so my goal now is to return to action for the new Perth Glory NPL side at some point before fighting for my place in the team for the start of the 2014/15 Hyundai A League season .”

Jamieson was injured in last November-s last minute defeat to Central Coast Mariners at nib Stadium, where he ruptured his Achilles tendon early in the second half. He underwent surgery the next day before starting his gruelling rehabilitation program.

Born in Auburn, Sydney, "Jamo" as he is known to his team mates was on the books of Bolton Wanderers, Adelaide United and Sydney FC before signing for Perth Glory in 2012. With 4 Socceroos caps to his name, Scott, has made 30 Hyundai A League appearances for Glory and recently signed a contract extension keeping him at the club until the end of the 2014/15 season.

I-m sure everyone is looking forward to seeing Scott back in action on both the training pitch and in the Purple shirt for Perth Glory in the very near future.
