'It was a crazy night' - Sydney FC skipper Brosque

It was almost exactly how Sydney FC skipper Alex Brosque would have dreamt it the night before.

The Sky Blues delivered their most ruthless performance of the campaign in Sunday’s 6-1 Hyundai A-League Semi Final humbling of Melbourne Victory.

From banishing the memories of last season’s gut-wrenching Semi Final exit at the hands of their fierce rivals, to a goal-scoring gift from retiring Sydney stalwart Brosque: everything went to plan for Steve Corica’s side.

“It was a crazy night,” Brosque, 35, told www.aleague.com.au.

“To say we’re five goals better than Melbourne is simply not the case. Tonight, was just us getting everything right, where everything goes the way you hope it will.

We’ve had that in us all year but just haven’t been able to get the goals for whatever reason.

“Tonight, we did and I’m very pleased for my last home game to go out like this and take all this confidence into Perth next week.”
